Pest managers looking to enter the pre-construction market can complete a newly devised training course.
Quality training is important for all aspects of pest control, but especially so in pre-construction, which requires a knowledge of construction types and processes.
Neville Hedge, who has recently joined Greenzone as a technical consultant, has developed a Termite Pre-Construction training course. Tapping into his over 50-years of experience in the industry, the course covers the learning requirements for Unit 42 (CPPPMT3042) – Install Physical Termite Management Systems – but is augmented by sections on site plan reading and good site practices.
“Reading site plans is vital to making the correct recommendations for termite protection. Having this skill gives pest managers the ability to tackle pre-construction jobs with confidence,” commented Mr Hedge. Greenzone are keen to encourage all their customers to sign up for the course, but the course is open to everyone. “It’s a great option for pest managers already working in pre-con who are looking for a refresher, as well as pest managers considering entering the pre-construction market,” said Mr Hedge.
It is important to note that those wishing to become qualified and licensed to carry out pre-construction work need to sign up for Unit 42 training with a registered training organisation. However, ProTrain Training and Consultancy in Queensland have reviewed the training program and have agreed that those completing and passing this new program offered by Mr Hedge will have recognition of prior learning for the theory component of Unit 42, and so reduced costs.
