Gavin Hutton, Director of Sprayer Depot, shares the story behind how FlowZone sprayers came to market in Australia.
Back in 2021, like many other pest control companies at the time, we were searching for high-performing battery-powered sprayers that would let us ditch the slow hand pumps and heavy petrol-powered units. After trialling several brands readily available in Australia, we consistently found issues with poor output, limited battery life, unreliable components, or limited nozzle choices.
After testing various sprayers within my own business and finding them falling short of expectations, we identified a significant gap in the market and I made it my mission to bring affordable, reliable, high-performance battery-powered sprayers to Australia. FlowZone was the answer.
FlowZone sprayers were already established as the number one must-have sprayer in the US pest control sector, praised for their reliability and performance. Intrigued by the strong reviews on YouTube and online forums, we decided to test a few models ourselves. The difference was immediate. The output was impressive, making exterior sprays much faster. They were reliable, easy to maintain, and offered 2-3 hours of runtime per battery charge. The sprayers came with quick-connect fittings and were compatible with a wide variety of quick-connect and T-jet nozzles perfect for targeting a range of pests.

After showing the sprayers to friends and colleagues in the Australian pest control industry, I imported a small number of units and sold them to a select few pest control operators. The positive response sparked the creation of Sprayer Depot, a distributor channel for FlowZone products. The business (formerly known as Work M8 Group) originated from a genuine need within the Australian pest control industry for better spray equipment.
The US directors of FlowZone saw our passion for the industry and felt it fitted into their partner philosophy, so offered us the opportunity to become their exclusive Australian/New Zealand distributors.
Today, four years later, the popularity of the FlowZone battery-powered backpack sprayers has exceeded all our expectations and they are in high demand from all types of Aussie pest control businesses, from one-man operations to large national franchises.
But we didn’t stop at importing the original models; we worked closely with the US FlowZone R&D team to customise and introduce new models and accessories to accommodate global pest control needs. This includes the Microburst Swap Tank unit with finer misting nozzles for interior treatments and injection spikes for treating soil, walls, or tree stumps for termites.
The two most popular FlowZone sprayers in Australia today are:
- Microburst Swap Tank – ideal for interior applications, it uses microburst nozzles to produce a fine mist with minimal run-off
- Typhoon G3 – with a powerful high-flow pump, it pairs perfectly with an adjustable cone jet nozzle to make quick work of exterior treatments.
Together, the Typhoon G3 (main picture, above) and the Microburst Swap Tank allow pest control technicians to complete a full interior and exterior household treatment in under an hour – without rushing, and ensuring coverage.
At Sprayer Depot we hold the full range of FlowZone sprayers, parts and accessories in our Adelaide warehouse. Having stock in the country means a fast turnaround on orders, repairs, and fast direct shipping to the customer.
Pest managers can order online on the Sprayer Depot website. Those who prefer to collect their sprayers can order through Globe Pest Solutions, who have branches in most Australian states and territories, and are now FlowZone distributors.
