Termite Control Equipment

Agserv is a product supplier that equips termite professionals with everything they need to perform inspections and treatments.

Successful termite treatments don’t only rely on the knowledge and experience of the pest manager and the products they use – utilising the correct equipment is essential. Whether applying termite products or carrying out an inspection, having the right tools and application equipment can make the difference between a successful treatment/inspection and a costly mistake. Agserv provides a full range of equipment to ensure termite professionals can excel in their service delivery.

Liquid soil termiticide applications are the principle termite management method. In order to carry this out effectively and efficiently, a top quality ute spray setup is essential. Agserv offers three different, specially designed and pre-built spray units that suit most standard pest control vehicles. A huge range of tanks, pumps, hose reels and spray guns are held in stock for customers to choose from. While a pre-built spray unit will do the job, the most effective method of conducting spray treatments is to use a custom-built spray rig.

Spray rig design and build is a specialty of Agserv, who can build a rig to a pest manager’s specifications or offer guidance to design and build exactly what’s needed to match individual requirements. Branch staff are specially trained and capable of designing what is best for any pest control company and vehicle. John Rutledge from Agserv Sydney (pictured above) has been developing and building spray rigs for more than 15 years and puts together 40-50 units per year designed specifically to customer specifications, taking into account performance requirements and available space.

Canberra-based pest manager Michael Shaw asked if the Agserv team could build a 12-volt, electric motor-based, quiet but effective unit. He needed something that could run all day as current petrol-driven motors tend to be somewhat noisy, limiting the times when they can be used. Mr Rutledge came up with the concept of dual electric pumps running in parallel, which would increase flow rate while maintaining pressure. The system he built delivered 14 L per minute while standard petrol pumps deliver only about 10 L.

Mr Shaw now runs eight of the units, with varying hose lengths; the units with 100-metre hoses are particularly useful for termite applications, with the longer length allowing easier access to sub-floors and harder to reach areas. He has two spray units in his large LDV vans and six in full aluminium-bodied Toyota Hilux utes. The electric pumping system designed and fitted onto his rigs by Agserv has become by far his favourite piece of application equipment!

Staff in all Agserv branches have similar design and build capabilities and can draw on Mr Rutledge’s extensive knowledge and experience.

As well as spray rigs and tanks, quality drill bits, slab injectors and tips are also available from Agserv – all essential for treating under hard surfaces in existing structures.

Termite baiting systems are an alternative to soil treatments and Agserv also offers equipment to make installation quicker and easier. Installing in-ground bait stations into soil and stony ground can be hard work. Agserv stocks the Power Planter 224HD heavy duty soil auger, which fits into a standard 13 mm drill chuck, to make lighter work of it.

When it comes to treating active termites, dusting or foaming are two common options utilised by termite professionals. Specially designed bulb dusters are used for direct application to active termite leads while the B&G Versafoamer 4000 can be used in a wide variety of situations including for commercial kitchen applications. Termidor Foam in a 567 g aerosol applicator is also available.

Having the correct equipment is also essential for comprehensive and professional termite inspections, to ensure termite activity and conducive conditions are correctly identified. Moisture meters and thermal cameras alongside the best in professional torches and dongers are available from all Agserv branches and will help support the skills of an experienced termite inspector.

Whatever you need, Agserv has the equipment and experienced staff to gear up termite professionals to excel.
