Greenzone: Complete Termite Protection from the Ground Up

Greenzone has forged a path of innovation within the pre-construction termite sector and acts as a one-stop shop for termite management professionals.

Greenzone Termite Barrier is an Australian-owned company that develops and supplies comprehensive termite and insect management systems for the building and pest management industries. Its product range is designed to provide effective protection for both pre-construction and post-construction applications.

The company was established following the development of a patented concept that integrated termite protection directly into expansion joint foam, creating an innovative solution that significantly reduced installation time by combining two essential functions into a single product.

Traditionally, protecting concrete joints against termite entry was a two-step process. Expansion foam was first installed to fill the joint, followed by the application of a separate termite barrier product to provide protection. Greenzone’s innovation combined these functions into one product, simplifying the installation process while delivering reliable termite protection.

The integrated expansion foam was specifically developed to streamline the installation of termite barriers around service penetrations in concrete slabs, as well as along concrete control (expansion) joints – areas that have traditionally required additional time and materials to protect.

Following years of research, development, testing, and field trials, Greenzone Expansion Foam was officially launched in Australia in 2017. The product was quickly embraced by distributors and pest managers, recognising its ability to improve installation efficiency without compromising protection.

Over the past nine years, Greenzone has continued to expand its product portfolio beyond its flagship innovation.

Greenzone Perimeter System (2019) is a barrier sheet that is installed around a concrete slab prior to the erection of internal wall frames. 50 LM (lineal metre) rolls are available in widths from 100 mm to 4000 mm. Pre-made internal and external corners are available for easy installation.

Greenzone Sock Barrier (2019) is the only collar on the market that protects the service penetrations from concrete expansion and can be installed before or after framework. They are easy to install – just slide on. The snug-fit design means there is no need to cut pipes with glued caps. They are available in sizes from 25 mm to 100 mm.

Greenzone Backer Rod (2022) is an ideal vertical and horizontal joint filler in concrete, for masonry substrates between precast concrete panels, interior walls, for sealing skylights, shop fronts and curtain wall construction. It comes as a 50 m x 20 mm circular tube packaged in a box for easy installation and to prevent tangling.

Greenzone Termite Paint, Primer and Sealant (2023) are the perfect products for control joints, step downs, cavities and retaining walls. Providing an incredible 300% elasticity, these products expand and contract with building materials. This elasticity ensures long-lasting protection against cracks, preventing termite intrusion and maintaining the structural integrity of the property.

Later in 2023, Greenzone expanded its range of termite products beyond the pre-construction market, with the introduction of Greenzone Bifenthrin and Greenzone Fipronil. The addition of these concentrates based on the leading termiticides for post-construction termite applications was part of the aim of making the company a one-stop shop for termite professionals. It was also based on feedback from pest managers that indicated they would be happier to buy locally made chemical products than big brand foreign imports.

Early 2024 saw Greenzone’s acquisition of Altis Pty Ltd, marking a significant move in the termite management market, leveraging Altis Reticulation System’s established reputation and unique technology.

The new Altis Pro Reticulation System was introduced to the market in early 2025, using a thicker, flexible piping with emitters embedded directly into the pipe. The redesigned emitters achieve the distribution of chemicals evenly at a measured rate to the entire system. These emitters with a larger filtering area allow better flow, faster pump-up time, less clogging and one pump up station per 100 m.

Once installed it does not require areas to be re-excavated to re-apply termite treatment, making this system very simple and cost effective to the client.

Today, the company offers a comprehensive range of termite management solutions, with products that support every stage of termite protection, from pre-construction barriers to post-construction treatments.

Looking after its customers is a priority for Greenzone, and being a small business is regarded as a significant benefit. Greenzone general manager and director, Brett Bowey said, “The fact that we’re not a big global company is actually our strong point – when pest managers need help, we’re there for them and we’re right here in Australia.”

Mr Bowey said Greenzone has built its success on strong relationships with the pest management industry and its commitment to customer service.

“We’ve developed great relationships with the pest managers who use our products, especially those who’ve been with us from the beginning. They appreciate that we go out of our way to support them. Customer service is incredibly important to us, and we continue to build our reputation on it.”

This customer-focused approach, combined with a growing portfolio of innovative termite management solutions, has helped establish Greenzone as a trusted partner for pest management professionals across Australia.
