The PCT range of rodenticides offers pest managers a cost-effective solution for targeting rodents, even in the most challenging circumstances.
With its comprehensive range of Australian-manufactured rodent baits, PCT has become the supplier of quality, good value rodent products, for those in the know. With a product line-up that includes a range of rodenticides (brodifacoum, bromadialone, difenacoum, coumatetralyl and zinc phosphide) in a range of product formats (blocks, pellets, grain and the newly launched Surefire Broma Liquid), pest managers have a rodent bait for almost any situation.
PCT rodent baits are manufactured in Brisbane, which provides two key advantages over imported products, which are appreciated by pest managers. Firstly, as the rodent baits are produced daily, it ensures the rodent bait is fresh, and as we know, the fresher the better when it comes to palatability. PCT baits aren’t sitting in hot warehouses and containers for months before arriving in Australia. Secondly, local production means pest managers can have the confidence that product will always be on hand, when it is needed. As a result, an increasing number of pest managers from around the country rely on PCT rodent baits to deliver results, to keep their customers happy.
It is always important to deliver results no matter the customer, but there is no better endorsement of a product than when it is used regularly in large commercial or sensitive accounts. You don’t want to risk losing a big contract, so you need a product you can trust.

Brett Hogan, owner of Exterminator 2 in South Australia, has been using both Surefire Broma Block (bromadiolone) and First Formula (brodifacoum) rodent baits for 15 years, after being introduced to the products by Agserv. His business covers both residential and commercial segments but specialises in intensive animal production. Managing rat populations in piggeries and chicken farms is challenging due to the availability of alternative food sources.
“I mainly use Broma Block but also mix it up with First Formula. Both are very effective in providing quick knockdown of rat populations. The results have been very effective – we have good bait consumption and knockdown of the rat populations. Customers are complimentary of our services,” said Mr Hogan.
“My business has grown in piggeries and chicken farms because of the control I have been able to achieve in managing rat populations. I have full confidence in both Broma Block and First Formula’s effectiveness and have recommended both products to others in the industry.”
First Formula (brodifacoum) block bait has also been a long-time favourite with Strike Force Services from the Hunter Region of NSW. Although Strike Force use other rodenticides as part of their integrated pest management approach, especially when rotating products for managing resistance, First Formula remains their go-to product for the majority of jobs, particularly in challenging and remote areas.

“Rodent control is a major challenge in the mining industry, where remote locations and large-scale operations create ideal conditions for them,” explained Chris Love, operations manager at Strike Force Services.
“We used First Formula during the mouse plague in regional NSW and it delivered fast, reliable results in an extreme situation. It is effective and works exceptionally well in high pressure environments. The product is easy to deploy, and its performance in harsh remote conditions, like those in mining, is unmatched.”

The PCT range also includes Couma Blocks, based on coumatetralyl, a first-generation anticoagulant. Daniel van Someren from DP Pest Control in Victoria is a relatively recent convert, but a carefully considered and loyal supporter of Couma Blocks. He realised that Couma Blocks offered the increased safety that he was looking for when compared to the traditional second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides that he had been using. Mr van Someren tried it first on a couple of sites of some major clients who were concerned about safety issues. The product worked well, controlling both rats and mice, so he has used it exclusively ever since.
“I am so happy that Couma Blocks are Australian-made and relatively inexpensive. My customers are really happy to have reduced the potential for secondary toxicity for pets and native animals,” said Mr van Someren.
The PCT range, which is available from Agserv, has recently expanded with the launch of Surefire Broma liquid rodenticide, a concentrated liquid bait formulated with 0.5% bromadiolone. The liquid nature of this bait makes it a particularly useful option during the hot, dry summer months when rodents are actively seeking water sources. While it’s particularly useful against rats – who have an inherent daily need for fluids – this product also works efficiently on mice.
To round out its rodent product range, PCT also produces high quality, great value, Australian-made bait stations. With their low profile and clever internal design, these lockable bait stations are suitable for use with blocks, grains or pellets.
PCT’s Australian-made rodent baits have been on the market for over 15 years and are a trusted product for many in the agricultural and professional pest control industries. Perhaps it’s time to have a closer look at PCT?
