PYGAR LAUNCHED IN NEW ZEALAND

PelGar’s natural insecticide product is now available in a new market.

PelGar International has received approval in New Zealand for its natural insecticide product, PyGar – a fast-acting, non-residual insecticide for the control of a wide range of flying and crawling insect pests.

“This is one of a number of new approvals that PelGar has been granted since the acquisition of the insecticide manufacturer Agropharm in 2015,” commented Dr Gareth Capel-Williams, managing director of PelGar International.

“Bringing practical and effective solutions to the marketplace is at the core of the PelGar business and PyGar will meet the need of providing effective insect pest control in urban and industrial areas.”

PyGar contains natural pyrethrum, an extract from the chrysanthemum daisy, providing fast knockdown of susceptible insects. It also benefits from the addition of the synergist piperonyl butoxide (PBO), which enhances the kill by reducing the insects’ ability to quickly metabolise and de-toxify the natural pyrethrum, providing more effective control.

PyGar can be used in thermal fogging equipment, ULV misters and motorised knapsacks to control insects in a variety of indoor situations. This includes food preparation areas, meat packing and animal slaughtering premises, factories and residential housing. PyGar can also be applied outdoors for mosquito control.
