PRESIDENT’S REPORT – JANUARY 2017

AEPMA president Vasili Tsoutouras looks forward to 2017 and the year ahead.

On behalf of AEPMA, I would like to thank everybody for their support during the year.

A highlight for 2016 was the FAOPMA conference “Solving Pest Problems”, which AEPMA hosted at Sea World Resort Conference Centre on the Gold Coast in September. We were overwhelmed at the success of the conference and the support shown by those in the industry who took part in this wonderful event.

We are in the final stages of completing a number of Codes of Practice; these include “Termite Management During Construction”, “Termite Management” and “Training in the Pest Management Industry”. The new year will see the Association commence work on a new Code, a Code of Practice for Rodent Control.

AEPMA is also cooperating with FAOPMA to participate in World Pest Day June 2017.

2017-18 membership renewals for AEPMA are due at the end of February. The Association continues to keep rates low, with only a 1% increase in fees for the coming year. For most small operators, one pest control job from our website will virtually cover the costs of an annual membership.

Finally on behalf of my family to your family, I wish you all in the industry a safe and happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Vasili Tsoutouras,
AEPMA President
