President’s Report – January 2018

A look at the revised Australian Standard 3660.1 and the implications for those working in termite management.

With Christmas recently behind us, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everybody a happy New Year.

2018 is set to be another big year for AEPMA, with our national conference being held 19-21 September. Following on from the popularity of FAOPMA 2016, AEPMA has decided to once again hold its conference on the Gold Coast, this time, at The Star Gold Coast (formerly Jupiters Casino).

Just a few hundred metres from the iconic beaches of the Gold Coast, with seven restaurants, five bars and a world-class casino and theatre, The Star Gold Coast will provide an ideal location for members of the industry to come together to gain new ideas, new connections, insights into the ever-changing pest control market and to strengthen existing relationships.

I’m excited to announce that the two new Codes of Best Practice in Termite Management have been launched on our website. In the article on the following page, we have outlined the benefits these two Codes of Best Practice offer to pest managers. I would like to take this opportunity to put on record my thanks to the members of the two working parties who have worked tirelessly to produce these documents.

AEPMA will soon commence a marketing campaign to promote the two Codes of Best Practice to members of the public. I encourage those pest managers that have not yet done so, to sign up as signatories to the Codes.

Once again, I hope you have all had an enjoyable festive season and wish you the best for a prosperous 2018.
