PEST CONTROL CONFERENCES 2021

With Covid-19 causing disruption to industry events in 2020, this year looks set to see a number of in-person and virtual pest control events and conferences taking place across the globe.

Australia hosts a number of excellent pest control industry events throughout the year, with 2021 being an opportunity for catching up in person and learning the latest news from industry suppliers. With international borders looking unlikely to reopen soon, pest managers should consider attending one of the local or virtual events listed below.

Free virtual events

ICUP, the International Conference on Urban Pests, is held every three years in a different location in Europe. The 2020 conference was postponed and will now be held on March 9, 2021 as a webinar. Videos of the speaker presentations can be played back for free on the ICUP Webinar page.

The key UK pest control conference alternates each year between PestEx and PPC live. This year is the turn of PestEx, which sees BPCA taking the leap to digital, moving the UK’s biggest pest management show to a free online platform. PestExtra 2021, to be held March 16-18, expects to see huge numbers of virtual attendees. BPCA will make all the sessions available to access, for free, on its online video library.

Australia

The hosting of the annual industry pest control conference alternates between AEPMA and Rapid Solutions and is generally held on the Gold Coast, Queensland. This year it is the turn of AEPMA, hosting Pesticon 2021 on September 22-24, with the theme of ‘Pest management in the digital age’. The event will be held at The Star Gold Coast (pictured above) as in previous years.

Agserv’s Pestech roadshow will likely hit the road in the spring, with dates to be confirmed.

Asia

The FAOPMA/Pest Summit conference evolved through the amalgamation of the two big regional conferences: FAOPMA (Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Management Association) and Pest Summit. This is the biggest pest control conference in Asia Pacific, typically with 1000+ international delegates and at least as many from the host country. The program has a wide range speakers from around the world covering pest control and public health. The atmosphere and enthusiasm for pest control at the conference is fairly unique. This year’s FAOPMA/Pest Summit Conference will be held on October 6-8 in Manila, Philippines, with the format to be confirmed.

USA

PestWorld is the annual US pest control conference run by NPMA (National Pest Management Association). With over 500 international delegates on top of the thousands of local attendees and over 165 exhibitors, it is a serious affair. The conference generally alternates between the east and west coast each year and is held in October/November. This year the conference will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on November 2-5, 2021.

France

Parasitec is the big European pest conference held in different countries and at different times each year. It covers the topics of pest control and public health, with international speakers and exhibitions. This year it will be in Paris from November 17-19, 2021.
