MOSQUITO CONFERENCE A SUCCESS

Bayer celebrates its sponsorship of another successful mosquito control conference.

The 13th Annual Mosquito Control Association of Australia Conference was held in September at the Peppers Salt Resort in Kingsclff, NSW, and from all reports, was a huge success.

With over 120 delegates and international and national guest speakers presenting sessions including ‘Current issues in operational mosquito control’, ‘Predicting Ross River virus’ and ‘New technologies for mosquito surveillance and control’, there was a plethora of fascinating information on offer.

Bayer was a Gold Sponsor for the conference, with Chris Mills, QLD, NT & NZ territory sales manager from Bayer acting as MC for one of the sessions.

During the session, delegates were encouraged to participate in a survey asking what their needs were in the vector control industry; new products, more education, or application hardware?

“The delegates were also shown examples of how Bayer has been researching all of these areas globally via their 360-degree vector control model,” explained Daryle Swarz, pest market manager at Bayer.

“A large number of surveys were completed, with some common trends being noted. Valuable information was collated from the conference and is now helping to shape the future direction of the Bayer Vector Control business in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. A great example of leveraging a global business and catering to the wants and needs on a national and regional level.”
