John Murray heads up AEPMA in a temporary role as Acting President.
In December 2024, Vasili Tsoutouras announced that he would be taking a leave of absence from his role as President of AEPMA, officially stepping down at the 2025 Pesticon conference in August 2025.
Current AEPMA Vice President John Murray has taken on the role of Acting President until a new President is elected at the AGM in August 2025.
Mr Murray has served on the QLD AEPMA committee for many years and has a long background in pest control, specifically within the training sector.
He began his pest control career in 1996 with Amalgamated Pest Control (APC) in Lismore, NSW. After several years working as a field technician and coach of new trainees, Mr Murray bought the APC Ballina franchise.
After many years building a successful pest control business, Mr Murray found his passion was in training and education, which eventually led to him becoming head of APC’s Training and Technical Team in 2013.
In his current role as training manager for Flick Anticimex RTO (Pacific Region), he shares his technical expertise and supports around 800 technicians and subcontractors. In his role as Acting President, Mr Murray hopes to continue AEPMA’s great work in promoting professionalism in pest management. He has worked on several Codes of Practice and as a representative on external working parties and committees promoting industry initiatives and training package development. He is passionate about all aspects of the pest management industry, especially in the mentoring and training of the next generation of pest managers.
“AEPMA’s 2025 focus areas include enhancing industry engagement, training, workforce development, and the technical trade journey. Our national and state volunteers are diligently working to implement these initiatives for the benefit of the entire industry,” said Mr Murray.
“I look forward to Pesticon 2025, from August 6-8 in Adelaide, where we will also elect AEPMA’s new President.
