The Bayer Environmental Science Professional business has been acquired by private equity firm Cinven, meaning it’s time to meet Envu.
Bayer has now completed the sale of its Environmental Science Professional business to the international private equity firm Cinven, for US$2.6 billion.
The divested business will operate as an independent company, Envu. Headquartered in Cary, North Carolina (USA), Envu will have an active business managing over 180 brands, in more than 100 countries. Nearly 900 employees will transfer from Bayer to Envu. The new business will operate in the professional pest management, forestry, ornamentals, golf, industrial vegetation management, lawn & landscape, mosquito management and range & pasture markets.
With four global innovation hubs in the US, Brazil, Germany and Singapore, and access to the Bayer active ingredient pipeline, the executive management team at Envu believe they have the expertise to strengthen and accelerate innovation and be more agile in responding to the developing needs of customers and markets.
Backed by Cinven, Envu is taking its 50-year legacy of excellence in environmental science as part of Bayer and moving forward to make history. Today, the Envu team has an extraordinary opportunity to dare to explore and seize its growth potential with a full focus on protecting the spaces society and nature share today and in the future,” commented Gilles Galliou, CEO, Envu.
In terms of the immediate future, the transition from Bayer to Envu branding will occur over the coming months, with printed material transitioning over the next three months, and digital content over the next six months. However, product packaging and regulatory materials (such as safety data sheets) may take up to two years to transition to the Envu brand.
