FREE LICENSING TRAINING IN NSW

For a limited time only, pest management training is being offered for free by OTEN, TAFE NSW.

With summer on its way, there will be an increase in pest activity and an increase in customers calls.

To help you manage this increase in demand and to get staff qualified quickly, OTEN, TAFE NSW is offering fee-free training in pest management for a limited time only.

Our short course (Manage Non-Timber Pests Skills Set CPPSS00046-01V01) will provide your staff with the three competency units they need to obtain their NSW pest management license from the NSW EPA. These three units have all been derived from the recently endorsed training package, Certificate III in Urban Pest Management (CPP30115).

The course covers inspecting premises; developing pest management plans; and implementing methods, including application of pesticides and modification of the environment for non- timber pests. It also covers maintaining equipment and pesticide storage areas in pest management vehicles.

You can enrol in this short course at no cost, as long as you meet all the eligibility criteria.

You must:

  • be 15 years or older
  • have left school
  • live or work in NSW
  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
  • be prepared to complete the course by 30 April 2017.

OTEN, TAFE NSW structures all training so that it is flexible, enabling students to complete their courses when it suits them, with little or no disruption to the workplace; a great outcome for both students and their employers.

There are limited places available so it’s recommended to enrol early to secure your place.
