FLEXIBILITY IN PRE-CON A WINNER FOR OLD AND NEW

Long established in the pre-construction sector, Termseal offers termite proofing solutions that have stood the test of time.

There is no one size ts all. To provide comprehensive pre-construction termite protection services, pest managers need to have access to a range of products that allows them to design the appropriate termite management system for the construction in question. Termseal is an Australian-owned company producing a range of Australian-made products that meet any building design requirement and solve any onsite problem encountered.

Termseal has been around for over 20 years and its products have been on the market for over 15 years, so they have stood the test of time. None more so than their flagship product, Ura-Fen Shield TWB.

Ura-Fen Shield TWB is a triple layer sheet material, with bifenthrin fully encapsulated in the cell matrix during the manufacturing process. Not only does this stabilise the active and prevent leaching, it means that there is no irritation when handling the product during installation. Ura-Fen TWB can be used as a termite barrier around the cavity perimeter and construction joints of new slab- on-ground structures. Its moisture protection properties have been tested by CSIRO and it is approved for use as a termite/damp course barrier combination for cavities and as a termite/vapour combination for full under-slab installation.

Whilst Ura-Fen Shield TWB is the core product for use in many ‘standard’ applications, Termseal’s Multi-Purpose Active Coating is the product that provides flexibility in dealing with tricky construction problems, both planned and unplanned.

Multi-Purpose Active Coating (main picture, above) is a highly engineered acrylic polymer-based liquid containing bifenthrin, which can be applied like a paint with brush, roller or heavy duty airless spray gun, and dries to form a seamless, flexible, termite resistant and waterproof membrane. It can be used to deal with a wide range of construction problems: back filled walls, internal walls below soil level to be converted into living areas, internal wet areas, construction joints, step downs and more.

The range is rounded out with: PRM Active Cord & Capping Strip, which is used for masonry cord protection or ‘ant’ capping in bearer and joist construction; Ura-Fen Major, a settable foam for gap and cavity protection; Termseal Sealant Active, for use in cracks and joints and fixing other Termseal components to building elements; and a range of service penetration products.

This comprehensive range means pest managers can meet all their pre-construction requirements using the Termseal range. It’s one of the reasons loyal customers stay with Termseal, but along with the training and support, it’s the reason pest managers new to pre-construction are turning to Termseal.

Termseal offers technical support Australia-wide and its team, led by technical manager Barry Quon, offers 24-hour support to pest managers. As well as comprehensive product training, the onsite support is very much appreciated by companies such as AusWide Pest Control, a young company new to the pre-construction termite management market.

“Termseal’s representative in Victoria, John Turner, has made our entry very smooth and easy. He used his product knowledge and experience in recommending us to opt for Ura-fen Shield TWB,” said Zeeshan Zia, director at AusWide.

“With John’s hands-on knowledge sharing, training and Termseal’s product support, we have the confidence to position ourselves in the market and develop our customer base. We know that we are backed by products that are Australian developed and made, which we can trust and rely on,” said Mr Zia.

New termite professionals are welcome to gain accreditation in Termseal products. Termseal normally runs six training sessions a year, but they are ‘on demand’, so interested pest managers should register their interest with Termseal directly.
