Designed by industry professionals from the ‘ground up’, the Ensystex Dual Powerlight has been specifically produced for use by professional pest managers. The Dual Powerlight uniquely combines two powerful five-watt Cree LED lamps, offering two different light modes: a bright 300 lumens white light mode for standard pest inspections and a UVA black light mode for targeting specific hygiene and pest situations.

“From the commencement of this development program, Ensystex set out to design a powerful torch that was specific for the needs of professional pest managers,” said Steve Broadbent, regional director of Ensystex.
“The bright white light is ideal for commercial pest inspections or termite inspections. It is powerful enough to brightly illuminate the target inspection zones, so you don’t miss any pest activity, but not so bright as to dazzle when checking in cupboards. The 300 lumens power is perfect for this.”
The UVA black light, which is contained in the same sealed, water-resistant reflector, is of particular benefit to pest managers who manage IPM programs. Rodent urine glows brightly under UVA light, enabling rodent runs to be monitored and contamination to be identified.
Mr Broadbent added, “Many other hygiene contaminants will also glow under UVA light, and of course Muskil Dual Active Rodent Baits from Ensystex are designed to glow under a UVA light for improved performance and better monitoring of IPM programs. Rodent droppings will glow under the UVA light if the rodents have consumed the Muskil bait.”
Bed bug eggs also glow brightly under UVA black light (scorpion eggs do too), making a black light torch a helpful tool for confirming the success of a bed bug management program or for developing a targeted bed bug treatment program. Once the torch is powered on with a firm press of the end button, the pest manager can gently depress the power button to enter the UVA black light mode, pressing it again to switch back to bright white light.
Produced in a 9001 Quality Accredited factory, the Dual Powerlight meets the International Protection Standard IPX8, meaning it is fully weatherproof and rugged. The Dual Powerlight can survive total immersion in water to a depth of one metre, drops from one and a half metres and, because it is constructed from black aircraft grade hard-anodized aluminium T6061, is also scratch resistant.
“Pest managers are demanding with their torches – they crawl through subfloors, into roof voids, get down and dirty in factories, then throw the torch in the back of the truck and expect it to keep going. This is all taken care of in the design of the Dual Powerlight.”
The Dual Powerlight comes with a belt holster, a wrist lanyard and a two-way charger for mains or in-car recharging. The Panasonic 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable battery provides a continuous working time of 5-6 hours. Measuring 150mm x 35mm and weighing 184g (with battery), the Dual Powerlight is small enough to be carried on the job, but powerful enough to illuminate the most challenging subfloor or roof void. It also comes with a 24-month warranty on mechanical and electrical failures.
