DON’T FORGET TO ATTEND THE RAPID SOLUTIONS RISK MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE

The Rapid Solutions Risk Management Conference is set to be an industry highlight for 2015.

If they have not already done so, pest managers should register to attend the Rapid Solutions Risk Management Conference at Jupiters Hotel & Casino on the Gold Coast on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th August.

By attending this year’s conference there won’t be a better opportunity for pest managers to network with their peers, make new friends and socialise in a relaxed environment.

“Large numbers of pest managers have already registered to attend, with the numbers on track to exceed those of previous years. It will be the biggest conference we have run,” said Chris Murphy, marketing manager for Rapid Solutions.

“The conference is only held once every two years so the fact that we have achieved such a strong commitment to attend is an indication of how much value pest managers place on being there.

“One trend we have seen this year is that many business owners and managers are bringing their technicians along as well. This recognises the depth and breadth of knowledge, information and experience that is available to delegates who attend.

“There will be more exhibitors than in previous years and the exhibition area has been designed so pest managers and exhibitors can talk and network in a relaxed, comfortable environment. The exhibitors will be keen to talk with you, and many will have deals, special promotions, competitions and handouts that will only be available to those attending. The exhibition hall will be buzzing!”

The conference will feature the biggest and best line up of speakers in the industry where all aspects of pest management will be covered.

Author and business leader, Bruce Sullivan, will be the keynote speaker. Managing his own businesses since his teens, by age 24 Mr Sullivan had established his own million- dollar network of businesses. His approach gets long term results, with all of his work being generated from repeat and referral business. Voted Australian Keynote Speaker of the Year by the National Speakers Association of Australia, Mr Bruce

Sullivan will engage and inspire pest managers to do what it takes to be the best they can possibly be in a world where change is constant and relationships are fragile.

Dr Partho Dang from the Philippines is an ‘urban entomologist’ who has researched insect baits and is interested in the pursuit of bio- rational and sustainable methods of controlling urban pests. Dr Dang will be presenting on ‘Asian Termites: Bio- ecology, Behaviour and Management’.

Other speakers include the likes of Shane Clarke who has enjoyed challenging the rules and practices in pest management for over thirty years. Never one to accept the norm as best practice, he has always looked for new and better ways of doing things. He will provide some tips on how to turn an irate customer into an opportunity.

‘Firing up your business’ is the title of Peter Cox’s presentation. Over the last 25 years he has been helping small business owners and operators meet the challenges and problems they face in today’s competitive business climate. Pest managers will enjoy his energetic, amusing and engaging style.

“This is just a taste of what pest managers can expect,” said Mr Murphy. “More than forty speakers will be presenting over the two days of the conference on the five presentation streams of Timber Pest, Urban Pest, Timber Inspection, Business Operations and New to the Industry.”

An exciting social program has also been arranged. Delegates and their partners are offered the opportunity to play golf, attend a ‘High Tea’ or play barefoot bowls. So networking opportunities will abound.

The AEPMA Pest Manager of the Year will be announced at the dinner on the Friday evening. Comedian Dave Hughes will also be providing entertainment during the dinner. Turning everyday foibles into rich and hilarious routines, ‘Hughesy’ will provide some sidesplitting humour. The dinner will be a great opportunity to see one of Australia’s best comedians up close and live!

Mr Murphy added, “I would like to thank our sponsors, especially our Gold Sponsor, Ensystex. Our Silver Sponsor, BASF, will sponsor the conference dinner including the Pest Manager of the Year Award while our Bronze Sponsor, Syngenta, will sponsor the Thursday evening happy hour.

“Attending the Rapid Solutions Risk Management Conference is all about pest managers obtaining a competitive advantage. Attending the conference will help to give pest managers an edge over those who don’t.

“All pest managers are invited to attend, not just Rapid Solutions clients. Attendance is fully tax deductible for pest managers and contributes to CPD points.

“I highly recommend that pest managers attend the conference which is the most significant event being held for the pest management industry in Australia in 2015. Make sure you don’t miss it!”
