The AEPMA NSW Branch held their first industry event for several years – a mini-conference including trade exhibit and presentations.
Over the years, AEPMA mini-conferences and industry events have been hosted by the individual states, but it had been a while since any such event had been hosted in NSW. Doug Balsom, NSW branch vice-Chairman and owner of Serial Pest Control in Sydney, took it upon himself to re-boot these events, by organising a mini-conference at Rosehill Bowling Club in Parramatta on August 28.
Open to both AEPMA members and non-members, the event kicked off with a light lunch and trade exhibit. The afternoon presentations covered timber pest inspections and reporting, business sale-readiness, snake awareness, safety and first aid, along with the latest AEPMA update and supplier spotlight presentations. The event finished with a drink and a chance for further networking.
“As it had been a while since AEPMA had hosted any such event, we didn’t know what to expect. In the end, we had over 50 pest managers attend, and we’ve received great feedback from all concerned. We’d like to thank the great speakers and support from our sponsors for making the event a success. The NSW AEPMA branch will look forward to holding a bigger event next year,” commented Mr Balsom.
