Technicians Get New Features on the Latest Nexus App

Following feedback from users, Nexus Service Manager has released a new mobile app with a host of requested features.

Nexus Service Manager has announced the release of the new Nexus Service Manager mobile app, which is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

This first release of the new mobile app prioritises speed, reliability, and the core features companies need to stay productive. In the coming months, Nexus will be communicating regular updates about new features and enhanced functionality. Here we take a look at three of the benefits users can expect from the new app: offline working, swipe functionality and auto-downloading.

No internet while on a job? No problem. Pest managers can now start jobs, complete service reports, take photos, and add tech notes, all without an internet connection. Working in basements, remote sites, or areas with no signal is no longer a problem as the Nexus Service Manager app allows for continued working without interruption.

The offline mode is designed to keep things moving; once connectivity is restored, all data will sync automatically in the background. Pest managers can focus on what matters most: getting the job done. For areas with inconsistent coverage, users can manually toggle offline mode for a smoother experience, then re-enable sync when back online. The immediate syncing of data also benefits admin staff, allowing them to receive the information they need as soon as it’s available.

Swipe functionality is something we’ve all become accustomed to these days. This new feature of the Nexus Service Manager app allows users to easily swipe left or right on a job to view the previous or next day’s schedule. It’s a quick, intuitive way to stay organised and plan ahead.

Auto-download is another new feature. The app automatically downloads the next day’s jobs whenever users are connected to the internet, ensuring pest managers always have access to their schedules, even if internet issues arise on the job site. This adds an extra layer of reliability and disaster recovery.

These new features give users an even better experience of Nexus Service Manager, a business software that was originally designed by a handful of Australian pest control companies to meet the specific needs of the industry. The system is designed to collect and centralise business information, allowing for efficient and accurate storage and reporting both in the office and out in the field using the app.

Service reports can easily be generated in the app using the preloaded fields. These can be completed using the open text boxes, Yes/No or True/False selections, tick boxes or dropdown boxes

Nicholas Vella, director of Nexus Service Manager, said the updates to the app came as a result of listening to customer feedback. “I’m talking to pest control companies every day so I hear what they are looking for in a business software,” he said. “We’ve developed the functions that are requested the most.

“In the last two years those requests have changed, becoming more sophisticated, with users and end clients demanding a digital-first service. Ultimately, Nexus now offers better support for techs to complete service reports and send invoices in real time.”

Existing users are encouraged to download and test the new app. Workflows may differ slightly from the legacy version as the new mobile app has been programmed from scratch, so hands-on familiarisation will help ensure a smooth transition before rolling it out to field technicians. Logging in is simple using the existing username and password.

Existing users should also note that while future development efforts will focus exclusively on the new mobile app, the legacy web app will continue to be fully supported and accessible for many years.

Those who are new to Nexus Service Manager can find out more on the website and book a demo to try it for themselves.
