Training Manager and Assessor Shane Rich shares the latest news from the team at MPL Training.
April was the start of something new for MPL Training as we welcomed respected pest manager Brett Black to the team (pictured above) and secured two new training sites located in Cheltenham and Footscray. The new sites have enabled us to expand the number of practical training and assessment days we can offer in Melbourne. Once the initial dates were released, the first round of courses sold out within three hours! Due to the demand of these Melbourne courses, we have scheduled dates for the remainder of the year.
Along with Melbourne, MPL Training will venture north for the winter to conduct further training for our Northern Territory comrades. After a quick two-week trip last year the word spread quickly and we have made the decision to invest more time and resources into ongoing training in the region. This is part of our commitment to expand our training to all states and territories over the next 12 months. Watch this space.
Our new online platform will be ready to go very soon as it is currently in the testing phase. Prue Wernicke from Formitize has been a fantastic help along with our new LMS partner Ali Kadri from Cloudemy.
July will see the addition of two courses: CPPUPM4003 – Assess and advise on pest management options for sensitive operations; and CPPUPM4005 – Implement and monitor pest management plans for sensitive operations. For high-risk places, there will also be CPPUPM4004 – Assess and advise on pest management options for complex operations and CPPUPM4006 – Implement and monitor pest management plans for complex operations. Our scope will widen further with a new bird management course and a range of non-accredited courses, including an advanced timber pest course.
The MPL Training team will be venturing far and wide over the coming months with the upcoming entomology show in Melbourne and a fumigation conference in Adelaide. We’ll also be attending the Termite Professional Conference, Pesticon, and PestWorld in Hawaii. A busy year!
