FATAL ATTRACTION: NEW ENSYSTEX FLY UNIT

Steve Broadbent from Ensystex announces the launch of the company’s new electronic fly unit, the Vectothor Kite.

One of the biggest segments in the market for the provision of UVA electronic fly killer units is the ‘uplight’ segment. These are popular in restaurants and fast food chains as the light and glueboard are concealed, with the light beaming upwards to attract the flies.

Most of these units have a very similar design, a good example being the Ensystex Vectothor Falcon model. However, noting the market demand for new and more attractive designs for placement in areas where their patrons are dining, Ensystex has released the innovative Vectothor Kite (pictured above).

With its discreet design, the Vectothor Kite is suited for kitchens, hotels, food production areas, offices, cafés, restaurants, fast food outlets, shops and more. It provides improved performance due to its unique design – the unit reflects the light onto the landing spot target on the glueboard, thereby stimulating the landing behaviour and trapping the insect.

The Vectothor Kite is suitable for use in HACCP-regulated food environments and uses the only REACH-compliant glueboard on the global market. REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. It is administered by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and although targeted at products in Europe, its implications to global manufacturers reach well beyond Europe.

As none of the standard glues available in the market meet the new REACH norm, we at Ensystex developed our own proprietary high-performance glue formula, which is REACH-compliant. This new glue formula is used in the Vectothor Kite.

The Kite also uses our proprietary Astron 18-watt shatterproof UV-A lamp. Made in Europe, this lamp is independently certi ed to meet the international standard for the Removal of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). The Kite is IP-20 rated (dustproof) like other uplight models, but its real selling point is its unique, stylish design.
