The Women in Pest Management Recognition Awards 2023 have kicked off, with nominations now open.
Nominations are now open for the inaugural Women in Pest Management Recognition Awards 2023. These awards will recognise many impressive women in the pest management industry, noting their hard work, collaboration, integrity and outstanding business acumen. These are the women who set the benchmark for others to follow.
Nominations are open for three categories of award:
- WIPM Leadership Award 2023
- WIPM Office Employee of the Year Award 2023
- WIPM Technician of the Year Award 2023
WIPM Leadership Award
The WIPM Leadership Award is open to women across the pest management industry – pest management professionals, pest technicians, manufacturers, and research organisations – who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, making notable contributions to the development and growth of the industry and the company they represent. This award is the highest recognition for individual achievement. It acknowledges and celebrates exemplary leadership that has had a significant and positive impact on the pest management industry.
WIPM Office Employee of the Year Award
Your team works hard all year round to deliver operational excellence. They’re dedicated, motivated, and ultimately brilliant at what they do. But when was the last time you told them that, or showed your appreciation for their tireless support? Or publicly acknowledged their incredible input, impeccable attendance, and unparalleled punctuality? There is nothing better than having someone (especially an employer) take notice of your effort. The WIPM Office Employee of the Year Award is an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution they make.
WIPM Technician of the Year Award
The WIPM Technician of the Year Award recognises the achievements of the Australian pest control industry’s finest female service professional. This award will go to someone who participates in industry educational meetings, exhibits excellence in safety, customer relations and leadership skills, and is active in community service. Nominees must have a minimum of three years in the industry and be fully termite qualified.
Individuals may be nominated by more than one person and can be nominated by anyone, including by a family member, a work colleague, or even a customer. Nominees must reside and/or work in Australia.
To nominate an individual, visit the Women in Pest Management website. Nominations close at 5pm on May 2, 2023.
Winners will be announced at the Termite Professional Conference Gala Dinner at the Maroochy RSL Event Centre on Friday July 7, 2023.
WIPM Leadership and Networking Events in July
The WIPM committee is thrilled to be involved with the Termite Professional Conference, which will take place on the Sunshine Coast in July 2023.
Preparations for the Women in Pest Management (WIPM) Leadership Development Workshops are in full swing. These workshops will run on Thursday July 6. The following day, WIPM will be hosting the National Big Breakfast, a networking event which is open to both men and women.
“The Termite Professional Conference is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year,” said Nicky Turner, president of Women in Pest Management.
“The WIPM Leadership Development Workshops will be of huge benefit to women in the industry, with valuable takeaways. Our breakfast event on the Friday morning will be an excellent opportunity for women to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build relationships with other professionals in the pest management industry. We have locked in excellent keynote speakers and prestigious industry professionals who will deliver educational sessions and much more.”
Entry to the Networking Big Breakfast will be free for delegates of the Termite Professional Conference, which includes all sponsors, and $30 for non-delegates.
