The Termite Professional Conference is shaping up to be an unmissable industry event, with Professor Dini Miller hosting a special pre-conference event.
The inaugural Termite Professional Conference on the Sunshine Coast is only a month away and pest managers are urged to seize the opportunity to come along to the conference and listen to world experts on termite management and pest control. The conference now includes a special pre-conference event.
Professional Pest Manager magazine has invested significantly to bring the best termite researchers to the one event, providing pest managers with the opportunity to learn from the best, making sure they have the latest termite knowledge to deliver excellence in termite management.
“With the top termite researchers from Australia such as Ass. Prof. Theo Evans, Prof. Nathan Lo and Scott Kleinschmidt, along with Ass. Prof. Thomas Chouvenc, a leading termite researcher and educator from the US, this is a learning opportunity for pest managers that is unlikely to be repeated anytime soon,” commented Dr Phil Ridley, director at Professional Pest Manager magazine.
The first day of the conference is focused on termite biology and behaviour and the second day of the conference is focused on termite management. The content and structure of the conference has been designed for both newly qualified technicians and seasoned professionals.
The conference also incorporates a special pre-conference event – An Evening with Prof. Dini Miller. Prof. Miller (pictured) is a world expert on German cockroaches (and bed bugs) and has kindly agreed to present on German Cockroaches and Assessment-Based Pest Management at the pre-conference event.
“We know it’s not termite related, but having Prof. Miller in town was too good an opportunity to miss. Professional Pest Manager magazine is pleased to be giving Australian pest managers the opportunity to listen and question Prof. Miller on German cockroaches and urban pest management techniques. It’s all part of our aim to provide the industry with world-class educational and learning opportunities,” said Dr Ridley.
Tickets are still available for the conference, including day tickets, which is a great option for local pest managers who can’t attend the whole conference or for companies in South East Queensland who want to keep the cost down and send more staff. Pest managers wanting to attend the full conference can still access discounted prices with a full magazine membership/conference registration package.
The conference also incorporates Women in Pest Management (WIPM) events, which provide a range of opportunities for female office staff and partners of delegates. The WIPM workshop day includes a range of industry and business leaders sharing their experiences in an informal setting. It provides an ideal opportunity for female office managers to build their skills and mix with like-minded individuals. For partners of delegates, WIPM have also organised a day trip to the Sunshine Coast hinterland on the Friday. WIPM are hosting the conference breakfast on the Friday morning before the conference starts, which is open to men women, and will be a great start to the day.
