Gnarly is a word that can mean something is old, twisted and bumpy, or pretty impressive. In the case of Sentricon AlwaysActive IG Termiticide Rods<\/a>, all three apply.<\/p>\n

A brand new Sentricon IG Termiticide Rod is pristine white, with clearly defined ridges, wrapped in clear cellophane. Depending on your local conditions, as well as environmental conditions, it may remain like this for many years. However, where moisture is present, particularly in clay soil, the rod will become gnarly over time.<\/p>\n

A gnarly rod becomes discoloured and sometimes slightly misshapen, which is good news as it means it becomes more palatable to termites. In fact, brand new Sentricon IG Termiticide Rods rods have been designed to be significantly more palatable to termites than wood. As the rod ages and becomes more gnarly, this palatability and desirability actually increases.<\/p>\n

With weathering, the rods become more palatable and still retain all of the active ingredient to achieve colony elimination. \u201cIt\u2019s important to leave them in place until more than half of the rod has been consumed,\u201d Mrs George continued. \u201cAn easy way to assess this is to judge whether the rod has become smaller than the base of the green plastic extractor. When this is the case, replace with a new rod.\u201d<\/p>\n
