Associate Professor Thomas Chouvenc<\/strong> is one of the few dedicated termite researchers globally, with over 100 scientific papers published on various aspects of termite behaviour and biology.<\/p>

Currently, Dr Chouvenc is an Associate Professor of Urban Entomology at the University of Florida. Dr Chouvenc has been a termite researcher for nearly 20 years, since he moved to the USA for his PhD studies.<\/p>

Dr Chouvenc research focuses on subterranean termite biology, with a particular interest in the field of evolution of insect societies, termite ecology and termite control. Dr. Chouvenc\u2019s research primarily addresses the biology of two economically important termite pest species, the Formosan subterranean termite (Coptotermes formosanus<\/em>) and the Asian subterranean termite (Coptotermes gestroi<\/em>). Both species are invasive to Florida and have a major economic and ecological impact.<\/p>

Using Coptotermes <\/em>as a termite model system, Dr. Chouvenc\u2019s research on behavior, symbiosis, physiology, colony demography and control of termites provides an updated perspective on the complexity of insect societies, which further improves our understanding of these remarkable organisms.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
