FMC announces a number of key changes for 2015.

The purchase of Cheminova by FMC Corporation has meant a new management team at FMC Australasia Specialty Products and direct access to manufacturing in Australia. FMC Specialty is best known for the HomeGuard termite management system and the Biflex range of bifenthrin-based products.

In August, Patrick Madden was appointed as the commercial manager, specialty. Mr Madden brings with him years of experience at Syngenta where he held several key commercial roles, including seed care account manager and senior sales manager for pest control.

Paige Finnegan has joined as marketing and communications manager. Ms Finnegan also spent some time at Syngenta and also has experience in turf chemical distribution and pharmaceutical marketing.

The FMC million dollar warranty is now being managed by John Tilley.

As of 6th October, the head office of FMC Australasia has officially moved to North Ryde, NSW. The new office location (pictured above) allows for a closer working relationship with the manufacturing plant in Wyong. Cheminova Manufacturing, a wholly owned subsidiary of FMC Corporation, was formed in November 2008. The acquisition of the manufacturing facility by FMC took place in April of this year.

Mr Madden commented, “FMC is pleased that they now have the capability to manufacture their signature pest control product range – Biflex – right here in Australia.”

Bifenthrin was developed by FMC and still has the longest known residual time in soil of any insecticide currently on the market. The bifenthrin residual half-life in soil is up to eight months, depending on the soil type. Coupled with a low mobility in most substrates, it is ideal for termite protection all over mainland Australia. As a result, it continues to be one of the most widely used termiticides on the market.

“To support Biflex and our other pest control products, we have assembled a team with a combined pest control experience of over 100 years. FMC Australasia has a team with in-depth knowledge and a strong focus on safety, the environment and quality – attributes which ensure our team and facility operate at standards second to none in the insect control chemical formulation industry in Australia.”
