Lawn Care Training

Globe Australia will be running a series of lawn care seminars around the country to provide pest managers with the knowledge and confidence to expand into this segment of the market and grow their business – find out more below.

Globe Australia is uniquely positioned to provide the pest control industry with training in lawn care, having significant experience in both pest control and turf management. The pest industry would be familiar with Globe Pest Solutions, but many would be unaware that its sister business unit, Globe Growing Solutions, has been providing products and advice to the professional turf industry for over 45 years.

Seminar content

The seminar has two key objectives:

  1. To provide the necessary technical knowledge so that pest managers can correctly identify and confidently treat the key insect pests and weeds
  2. To provide information on potential business models and go-to-market strategies to give pest managers the confidence to enter the lawn care segment and make a profit.

The development of the training material is underway. Although the exact content of the training is to be finalised, it will likely include the following core elements:

  • An introduction to turf and lawn management
  • Fertiliser basics
  • Insect pests – identification, understanding and control
  • Weeds – identification, understanding and control
  • Identifying disease
  • Licensing and insurance requirements
  • Business models – selling lawn care

Although this seminar will touch on fertiliser use and disease management, these subjects are more suitable for the more advanced lawn care manager and will likely be dealt with in an advanced lawn care management training seminar at a later date.
